This is a large kitchen dining room in an elegant square in Islington, near the Angel. Some of the boards were exceptionally uneven, with some almost an inch higher than neighbouring boards, because of structural work carried out beneath. I had to do quite a lot of strengthening carpentry work here, with the joists and such.
The photo of Poppy the Westie was taken the day after I finished varnishing. She was very happy with my work. No complaints, that's what I like. Water-borne finishes are ideal for pets and children, their lives are a lot easier because they do not skid and slip uncontrollably, as they can with almost frictionless oil-based finishes.
The photo to the right shows her and her husband, little Willy, checking the floor before giving me the okay to varnish, the day before.
